'OUR WORLD OUR ART' POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING...SALAD FOR BREAKFAST?...AND FLEA MARKET FINDS...AND A LOVELY FEBRUARY 1ST TO EVERYONE!

SPINACH, BROCCOLI, SLICE BEETS, AND HONEY ROASTED SUNFLOWER SEEDS.

THE 'OUR WORLD OUR ART' EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED BY LISA SWIFTKA OF 'A WHIMSICAL BOHEMIAN' UNTIL THE SPRING.   PLEASE CLICK ON THE BLUE HAND ICON ON MY RIGHT SIDE BAR >>>>>>>RIGHT LOWER SIDE BAR..... THANK YOU.
LAST YEAR I wanted to start eating more healthy...well...it took until THIS YEAR for it to happen.  2012 went by in the blink of an eye.  So, this morning I had my favorite salad for breakfast!  Baby spinach, cut up raw broccoli, tiny canned sliced beets, and honey roasted sunflower seeds with a tad bit of ranch dressing.  Plus...a lovely cup of Lady Grey tea from World Market/Cost Plus.  They have such a wonderful variety of teas and coffees, and chocolates!!!

A PHOTO OF ONE OF THE FOUR ADORABLE CAT PLACE MATS FROM ENGLAND MY HUSBAND FOUND AT A STORE IN TOWN CALLED 'THE PARIS FLEA MARKET'
A SPOT OF LADY GREY TEA WITH MY BREAKFAST.  SOMETIMES I ADD A SPOONFUL OF HONEY...VERY DELECTABLE!!!  OH, AND MY MIDDLE SON, USED TO  WORK AS A  BARISTA FOR STARBUCKS, HENCE THE CALIFORNIA STARBUCKS COFFEE MUG.

We went to the city of Turlock, California this past Sunday for a car swap meet and flea market.  There are always goodies, collectibles, to hunt for...treasures among the thousands of vintage auto parts and vintage cars for sale. People come from all over the world for this event, even New Zealand and Australia.  We must have walked for five hours slowly looking for treasures. It is a huge yearly event. We also went shopping in the town to a few antique stores where I found some lovely treasures.

I FOUND THIS SWEET WIRE BIRDCAGE IN ONE OF THE ANTIQUE STORES.  THE ENTIRE TOP PART OF THE ROOF HINGES TO OPEN.
THERE ARE ALWAYS A COUPLE OF GALS WHO HAVE VINTAGE LACES IN THEIR BOOTHS IN ONE ANTIQUE MALL.  SO I HAD FUN GATHERING GROUPINGS OF LACES.    I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE PINK LACE AS COLORED LACES ARE NOT ALWAYS EASY TO FIND.
MORE SWEET FINDS...SOME ROUND WOODEN BEADS IN LOVELY SIZES TO BE USED AS ARM AND LEG JOININGS FOR HANDMADE PAPER CLAY DOLLS.  ALSO SOME TINY WOODEN ALPHABET GOODIES FOR MIXED MEDIA COLLAGES.

Ta! Ta! For now!
Please keep watching my blog for my participation in the 'OUR WORLD OUR ART' event coming IN THE SPRING.  Lisa has postponed the 'Our World Our Art' event until the spring.  It is a huge undertaking for her to put this event together. Please go to her blog for more updated information. Just click the blue hand on my right side bar announcing the event.  It will take you straight to Lisa Swifka's 'A Whimsical Bohemian' blog.

Oh, you found some lovely things! Pink lace, how nice!

We have caramelised bananas on toast for breakfast. Does that count as salad? With coffee, but I have to have tea to wake me up enough to make the coffee.

Thank you for the update on OWOA.
