Photos of the doll I made in Cloth and Clay doll ning in 2008

YES, SHE HAS A POUTY FRENCH LOOK TO HER.
YOU CAN CLICK ON THE CLOTH AND CLAY DOLL NING SITE BUTTON ON MY SIDEBAR FOR INFORMATION ON HOW TO JOIN JANE DES ROSIER'S DOLL CLASS.  ENJOY!!!
I enjoyed making this doll so much.  It was tedious work, first cutting out a cloth doll body, arms, legs, then stuffing very firmly.  Then using Creative Paper Clay to sculpt the three or four layers of clay for the face and sanding, and letting the layers of clay dry in between.  Then painting the face, hand, feet, and body.  And also making a very sweet dress for the doll.  The possibilities are endless as to how you can dress and make your doll look charming.  Many of the doll makers in Jane's class have gone on to having their dolls featured in Art Doll Quarterly and in PRIMS, two publications by Stampington, Inc.   Stampington has doll challenges for both publications where doll makers can submit their dolls for challenges and for normal submissions for dolls to be featured in their publications.  When making Jane's doll pattern, she has some secrets up her sleeve for making her dolls.  Her class can still be joined for $12 per year which includes all of the video tutorials, and extra doll making tutorials and doll making tips.  With your own page for posting your doll photos related to the site.  And other pages for discussion forums, and a forum for posting you blog name along with others who want to discuss and post their doll related sites.  It is just a great place to be!

I used the opportunity to make my doll over a three day weekend when my husband was on a trip, and I worked probably eight hours a day on my doll.  It was tedious work but richly rewarding.  I love this style of doll as it reminds me of a marionette.

Precious one,

I am flying out the door NOW to go pick up my husband from work late...but I wanted to thank you for visiting me!!! AND YOUR DOLLS are a great form of expression and I so hope that now your life will return to where you enjoy the fullest of creative times! I am a bit stressed with work, email problems and I must have spent 3 hours tonight with the helpdesk to iron out problems that only worsened!!!!

THANK YOU....and do you sell these??? Anita

Oh Teresa dearest,

I am so glad that you will be selling your dolls! I will also start selling my wares as soon as I finish up the details with my inventory (shipping materials..) BUT I WANT TO ALSO CHECK OUT that one in particular artist that you mentioned whose dolls fly off the shelf! I love this art, though I have only made ONE little paper mâché doll!

Dearest one, my email is DEAD! It was to be migrated over to GOOGLE APPS and in the process, I encountered problems last night that left my old email account unaccessible. SO if you send me an email, I will never be able to get it. The helpdesk crew is going to look into the problem today. I will need to put a message on my blog post tonight to let dear friends know that is why I will not be responding to emails!

In the meantime, enjoy your weekend (I SURE WILL) and keep making those dolls. LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU SET UP YOUR SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peace my dear, Anita

Sweet friend!

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LEAVE such a wonderful comment! Yes, my email account with my old university where I got my Master's and elementary teaching license is no longer working properly, so I best go onto gmail...I TOTALLY BELIEVE in what you are saying about our faith; there are so many unknowns about how GOD SEES all of us, and what matters the most, I believe, is what Jesus said about loving one another, forgiving over and over again...we have NO IDEA what is in store for "....those who love Him" so we are better off occupying our time LOVING.....if we did JUST that, and didn't spend our time causing divisions between faiths, we would get a lot accomplished. AND I TOO agree that our blogs are an opportunity to spread thought that is positive and inspiring. Now that it is the weekend, I am so looking forward to some rest and creativity time and I will now look at those sites you mentioned. That is an UNBELIEVABLE story about Stephanie...I must visit her today.

Well my dearest, you are such a kind and sweet soul. May you have a LOVELY WEEKEND, enjoy your doll-making, and thank you for your kind note to me...what a great world we have when we MAKE IT that way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GROSSES BISES, Anita

Your doll is so full of charm and seems to know about everything that goes on in the castle but she just can't find the right one to bubble it all over to.
I LOVE JESUS ALSO...He is not a religion...he is loving, faithful, the healer, Salvation, the Prince of peace, my very best friend, my brother, my father, my King, my everything and I LOVE HIM MORE THAN WORDS CAN DESCRIBE.
iT LIGHTS ME UP WITH JOY TO MEET SOMEONE WHO LOVES HIM. HE IS SO WORTHY TO BE LOVED and rejected by sooooo very many. I weep for those who don't even know they are lost. I am so very elated my daughter had a personal relationship with Jesus when she took her last earthly breath. I sooo deeply miss her and it will be 2 years oct. 23, 2011 at 1012 pm.
I think I am a follower, but if not I will follow you and would be over joyed if you follow me.
looking forward to getting to know you.
hugs and prayers

Ah, she's really sweet. My great grandmother used to make cloth dolls for orphans. As a child, my mother begged her and begged her to make her one. (Granny always told her that a doll she made for her could be a dolly for a child with no toys at all). Finally, one day... (when Mom was an adult, I believe)...Granny made Mom a doll of her own. She threw it together really quickly, and honestly... it looked really bad (Lol!) but Mom didn't care. Her Granny just drew the face on with a black marker and lipstick. Luckily for the doll, Mom gave it a hair and clothes makeover a few years ago. :p
