CATS, FLOWERS, AND REFLECTED LIGHT PHOTOS and a little giveaway!

TODAY, I AM GOING TO SHARE PHOTOS OF CATS, FLOWERS, AND REFLECTED LIGHT AROUND OUR HOME.

FOR THE GIVEAWAY, PLEASE READ THE POST TO THE END ABOUT THE IMAGES OF REFLECTED LIGHT.

HERE IS ANOTHER CLUE: IN FAIRY LORE, THIS OBJECT WOULD HAVE REPELLED FAIRIES AS IT USED TO BE MADE FROM AN OLD ELEMENT WHICH THEY DO NOT LIKE.

I WILL BE POSTING CLUES DAILY, UNTIL SOMEONE OR SEVERAL PEOPLE GUESS THE OBJECT WHICH IS CREATING THE REFLECTED LIGHT IMAGE.

I WILL BE GIVING AWAY FABRIC FLOWER BROACHES, MAYBE WITH BITS OF VINTAGE LACE AND BUTTONS AFFIXED TO THE BROACH.

THIS IS JUST AN IDEA OF WHAT THE FLOWER BROACHES WILL LOOK LIKE.  BUT PROBABLY WITH MORE VINTAGE LACE AND MORE BUTTONS.  JUST SOMETHING FUN TO GIVEAWAY!

GOOD LUCK WITH THE GUESSING!

I DO LOVE CATS, AND A NEIGHBOR'S CAT LOVES STAYING IN OUR YARD AS WE DON'T HAVE ANY DOGS TO BOTHER CATS.

I BELIEVE OUR NEIGHBOR'S CAT'S NAME IS ZOEY.  I ADORE ORANGE TABBY CATS!

THIS KITTY CAME TO OUR YARD FOR A FEW WEEKS AND THEN I DIDN'T SEE HIM FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, THEN I SAW HIM DOWN THE STREET LAST WEEK.  I THINK HIS PEOPLE MOVED AND LEFT HIM BEHIND.  HE WAS A REALLY, SWEET CAT TOO!

HERE IS ZOEY AGAIN.  HE HAS SUCH A FUN PERSONALITY. I AM TAKING AN ONLINE WATERCOLOR CAT PORTRAIT CLASS WITH MIRIAM SCHULMAN AT HER NING SITE 'THE INSPIRATION PLACE' WHICH THE LINK IS ON MY SIDEBAR.  SHE ALSO OFFERS A VARIETY OF OTHER WATERCOLOR WORKSHOPS.  PLEASE CHECK OUT HER NING SITE.   SO I AM TAKING PHOTOS OF CATS AS REFERENCE POINTS FOR MY CAT PORTRAITS.  I HAVE LEARNED THAT UNLESS A CAT IS LYING DOWN, THEY ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CAPTURE AS THEY LIKE TO MOVE AROUND A LOT!

FLOWERS ARE SUCH A LOVELY EXPRESSION OF NATURE, SO I HAVE ADDED A FEW PHOTOS FROM OUR YARD.

SOME OF MY SUCCULENTS IN BLOOM.  THE COLORS OF THE BLOOMS ARE DEEP WITH RICH BRILLIANCE.

THIS SUCCULENT IS CALLED 'BABY TOES' AND HAD RATHER A LARGE BLOSSOM FOR SUCH SMALL SUCCULENTS.

EVERY SPRING I HAVE VOLUNTEER VIOLETS WHICH COME UP.  THEY HAVE SUCH A WONDERFULLY HEADY SWEET FRAGRANCE.
I BELIEVE THIS IS 'PEACE' WHICH IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ROSES.  I LOVE THE PALE YELLOW WITH THE BLUSH OF LIGHT PINK AROUND THE EDGES.  THERE IS AN OPAQUE GLASSWARE CALLED 'BURMESSE WARE' WHICH HAS THE LOVELY YELLOW FROSTED LOOK WITH A PINK BLUSH ON AROUND THE EDGES.  JUST A BEAUTIFUL COMBINATION OF THE TWO COLORS.

THIS BRIGHTLY FLOWERED PLANT IS CALLED 'THE BIRD OF PARADISE'.  IT IS NOT THE TYPICAL BIRD OF PARADISE PLANT WITH THE WAXY, HUGE FLOWERS, BUT A NEWER FLOWERING SHRUB.

HERE IS A DAY LILY/IRIS WHICH DECIDED TO BLOOM PROFUSELY THIS SPRING. IT REMINDS ME OF A PASSION FLOWER AND I AM SURE THE PETALS HAVE A RELIGIOUS SIGNIFICANCE TO IT AS DOES THE PASSION FLOWER BEING ATTRIBUTED TO THE PASSIONS OF CHRIST.

ONE OF MY ROSE BUSHES GIFTS ME WITH FOUR ROSES ON ONE STEM EACH YEAR. QUITE BEAUTIFUL!

REFLECTED LIGHT CAN BE SUCH AN AMAZING SUBJECT TO PHOTOGRAPH SO I HAVE ADDED SOME AMAZING PHOTOS OF HOW LIGHT CAN BE REFLECTED FROM DIFFERENT OBJECTS.

I AM FASCINATED WITH TAKING PHOTOS OF REFLECTED LIGHT.  THIS WAS TAKEN IN MY LAUNDRY ROOM WHEN THE SUN WAS AT A LOW POINT IN THE WEST AND WAS ACTUALLY REFLECTED OFF A PLASTIC TRANSPARENT TWO-LITER BOTTLE FULL OF WATER.
I LIKE TO LOOK FOR HIDDEN IMAGES IN REFLECTED LIGHT, AS,  IN THIS ONE, I SEE A FACE ON THE LEFT SIDE, AND A FACE LOOKING DOWNWARD. THE IMAGES KIND OF SHARE THE SAME CHIN. QUITE FASCINATING, WITH THE REFLECTED ORBS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LIGHT.

MORE REFLECTED LIGHT THROUGH A BURLAP SHADE IN OUR DINING AREA, REFLECTED AGAINST A WOODEN SLIDING DOOR, WITH THE SUNSHINE AGAIN COMING LOW IN THE WEST AT THE CLOSE OF THE DAY. THE BLUE REFLECTION AT THE CENTER TOP IS ALSO AN AMAZING BIT OF COLOR WHICH I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE IT CAME FROM. I DID NOT USE MY FLASH IN ANY OF THESE REFLECTED LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHS.

I WALKED INTO ONE OF OUR ROOMS THE OTHER LATE AFTERNOON AND SAW THIS AMAZING REFLECTED LIGHT PATTERN ON THE WALL.  IT REMINDED ME OF AN ANGEL OR SHRINE OR BOTH.  IF YOU CAN TELL ME WHAT THE OBJECT WAS WHICH REFLECTED THE LIGHT, I WILL SEND YOU A LITTLE GIVEAWAY SURPRISE!  JUST LEAVE ME A COMMENT AS TO WHAT YOU THINK THE OBJECT IS.  PLEASE LEAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS SO I CAN CONTACT YOU IF YOU GUESS THE CORRECT OBJECT. THIS PHOTO ALSO HAS A BLUE EERIE LIGHT ON THE LOWER RIGHT, WHICH WAS NOT APPARENT WHEN I SNAPPED THE PHOTO WITHOUT A FLASH.

JUST MY WAY OF THANKING MY FAITHFUL BLOG FOLLOWERS WITH A SWEET GIVEAWAY GIFT. TRY TO GUESS WHAT OBJECT CREATED THE REFLECTED LIGHT IN THE VERY LAST PHOTO.  IF MORE THAN ONE PERSON GUESSES CORRECTLY, I WILL GIVE SOMETHING TO EACH PERSON WHO GUESSES CORRECTLY.

I WILL BE ADDING CLUES DAILY SO IT'S NOT SO HARD TO GUESS THE OBJECT MAKING THE REFLECTED IMAGE OF LIGHT.

TODAY'S CLUE IS:  WOMEN THROUGHOUT THE AGES USED THIS OBJECT.

THIS GIVEAWAY WILL BE LEFT UP UNTIL SOMEONE OR MORE THAN SOMEONE, GUESSES THE ANSWER.

I HOPE YOU HAVE ENJOYED THESE PHOTOS AS MUCH AS I ENJOYED DOING THE PHOTOGRAPHY.

Such magical creatures cats are. So sweet and noble! And beautiful, flowers, I love spring! I would love to partake in your giveaway but I have no idea what reflected the light to make such a beautiful angelic shape!

I am going to guess a mirror - from your clue. But indeed it is a beautiful reflection and reminds me too of an angel. Fitting as I was just reading your tribute to JoAnnA Pierotti. God bless!

Thank you so much for your kind and sweet comment on my blog.
You already have so very many beautiful flowers blooming in your garden , so lovely,-here it is still very few things blooming, and still cold.
Your reflections look great,I never thought of photographing them,-could it be a crystal giving the "angel" .
Greetings, Dorthe

Hello Dear Teresa
What a great idea. Love your cat images. What happened to the little cat that was abandoned?
Love your roses and your wild irises (we have those pretty little ones too!).
At first I thought of a CD but not for the last photo though!
I wondered if the reflected light came from a compact mirror which women use for lipstick and make-up?
Sending love and hugs,
Suzy

I'm guessing fairies didn't care for mirrors. The bird reflection could be from a hanging crystal.

My daughter photographed something very similar to your bird or angel reflection. It was quite amazing, because we didn't realize it was there.

I followed over from Fanciful Twist.

I am sorry I am late. I was admiring all the shiny things and reflected light.
Fairies are not overly fond of larger bodies of water. so my guess is water.
Do you wish for me to be more specific? Even a bowl of water could seem large to certain fairies.
