A TRIP TO DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES ART DISTRICT...ALICE IN WONDERLAND MURALS

SINCE MY MIDDLE SON IS GOING TO COLLEGE IN LOS ANGLES, WE GET TO VISIT THE AREA ABOUT EVERY TWO MONTHS.

I had been eyeing the artwork on some of the buildings surrounding the Art's District of Los Angeles, which happens to be only a few blocks from where my son is going to the top architect school in the world.

So, we drove there and took photos.

I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

LET US BEGIN WITH THE MAD HATTER

AND THE RED QUEEN

A VERY FREAKY WHITE RABBIT BUT HE DOES HAVE HIS POCKET WATCH!

THE CHESHIRE CAT, NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT!

THE HOOKA, SMOKING, CATERPILLAR

THE MARCH HARE (ABOVE THE CATERPILLAR)
TWEEDLEDEE AND TWEEDLEDUM (YUP! THAT'S HOW THEY'RE SPELLED!)

THE JABBERWOCKY

ONE OF THE WALLS DEVOTED TO WONDERLAND, WITH A RED HEART CARD ON THE LEFT SIDE.

AND HERE IS QUITE A VOULUPTIOUS ALICE, WANDERING HER WAY THROUGH THE STREETS OF L.A.

PART OF ONE WALL OF THE MURAL WITH MUSHROOMS AND THE DODO BIRD INCLUDED.

ONE WHOLE WALL AT A DISTANCE.

I hope you have enjoyed this tour of what goes on in the Los Angeles' Art's District.
'Alice in Wonderland' has been a favorite book of mine since I was a child, which is a long time ago.

I have no less than eleven Alice related books in my personal library, including 'The Annotated Alice' and also, a vintage stage play booklet with the script and parts.

Until next time, when we meet again...who knows where I shall take you next time!

The art work is eye-catching & as suziqu said "stunning". I did find the Cheshire cat and white rabbit a bit disturbing, and Alice is very grown up, but still, an amazing wall ( building ) of murals !

Oh how these murals bring back such great memories of SUNSHINE and warmth as we walked the streets of L.A......

Teresa dearest, thank you for coming to visit me! Many thanks for the years of inspiration and encouragement and kinship! And I pray for more, more, more.

We are in a deep freeze out here, and now I have to get up and get ready to drive out to work. LOVE TO YOU DEAR ONE! Anita

What a fun trip that must have been! The artwork is wonderful but I find it disquieting the scene with the hookah is one of serenity. There's a lot of violence in those drawings and cause fear in me for the youth of today. Makes me sort of want to gather them up, bring them to the farm and expose them to the joys of farm living.
BTW, thanks Teresa for visiting Thistle Cove Farm; your visit reminded me to add you to my side bar. Hopefully, yours was a happy and joyful Christmas and new year.

Wow! what a stunning art show! I can’t take my eyes off. Alice in wonderland has been portrayed through this art work in a very unique and mind-blowing way. I am an art artist, even I would love to do this in an event space, so that it spreads the feeling of joy everywhere, just like this art work is doing. I am so in love with this art work.
