THE TRODDEN PATH NING SITE...

IT HAS BEEN SUCH GREAT FUN BEING PART OF A NING GROUP CALLED 'THE TRODDEN PATH'.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THIS GROUP, IT IS A FREE SIGN UP.  PLEASE SEE MY LEFT SIDE BAR FOR 'the trodden path'.

THERE ARE ACTUALLY 56, SEPARATE GROUPS WITHIN 'THE TRODDEN PATH'.  WHEN YOU CLICK ON THE LINK AND GET TO THE MAIN PAGE, THE MAIN MENU IS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE.  PLEASE CLICK ON WHERE IT SAYS: 'GROUPS/CLASSES' AND IT WILL GIVE YOU THE ENTIRE LIST OF GROUPS WHICH ARE AVAILABLE ON THE SITE.  CLICK ON THE GROUP YOU ARE INTERESTED AND IT WILL EITHER BE FREE OF CHARGE OR WILL GIVE THE COST OF THE CLASS YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.  DIRECTIONS ARE ON THE SITE FOR JOINING THE VARIOUS GROUPS AVAILABLE.  PAYPAL IS THE USUAL PAYMENT FORM, OR LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR JANE IF YOU ARE NOT SURE.

FOR INSTANCE...I AM IN THE 'CLOTH AND CLAY DOLL WORKSHOP' GROUP WHICH ACTUALLY BEGAN IN THE FALL OF 2008 WITH INSTRUCTOR JANE SPAKOWSKY (DES ROSIER) WHO IS ALSO THE MAIN GROUP ADMINISTRATOR FOR 'THE TRODDEN PATH' NING SITE.  (THE COST IS $50, IF YOU ARE NOT A RETURNING MEMBER OF THE CLOTH AND CLAY ORIGINAL NING SITE).

THIS IS THE HANDMADE CLOTH BODIED DOLL WITH A PAPER CLAY OVERLAY, HEAD, TORSO, FEET, AND HANDS WHICH I MADE IN THE 'CLOTH AND CLAY DOLL WORKSHOP' WHICH IS ONE OF THE WORKSHOPS ON 'THE TRODDEN PATH' NING SITE.  PLEASE SEE THE LEFT SIDE BAR TO FOR THE LINK TO MANY ART WORKSHOPS ON 'THE TRODDEN PATH' NING SITE.

I JOINED THE CLOTH AND CLAY DOLL NING SITE ON ITS INCEPTION, WAY BACK IN 2008, AND WHEN JANE DECIDED TO INCORPORATED THAT GROUP INTO 'THE TRODDEN PATH' NING SITE, THIS YEAR, SHE GAVE THE INVITE TO ALL PREVIOUS MEMBERS OF THE CLOTH AND CLAY DOLL NING GROUP SO THEY COULD TRANSFER THEIR MEMBERSHIP, FREE OF CHARGE, OVER TO 'THE TRODDEN PATH'.  WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I CHOSE TO DO.  I DID PAY MY DUES A FEW TIMES, RENEWING MY MEMBERSHIP OVER THE FIVE YEARS THE CLOTH AND CLAY DOLL NING SITE WAS UP AND RUNNING.

IF YOU WANT TO LEARN SOME VERY AMAZING DOLL MAKING TECHNIQUES USING CREATIVE PAPER CLAY OVER A CLOTH BODIED DOLL, WHICH INCIDENTALLY, THESE DOLLS ARE MADE AND SEWN, AND STUFFED WITH FIBER FILL BY EACH STUDENT, AND YOU LEARN THE BASICS OF SCULPTING PAPER CLAY OVER CLOTH.  YOU ALSO LEARN HOW TO PAINT A DOLL FACE AND ADD A SIMPLE DRESS TO THE DOLL.  THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE CLASS AND THE COST IS $50 FOR THE SIGN UP.   YOU WILL BE AMAZED WHEN YOU REALIZE  YOU CAN LEARN A NEW METHOD OF MAKING DOLLS.
THEN, YOU CAN GO ON TO CREATE YOUR OWN DOLLS MODIFYING THE PATTERN, AND ADDING YOUR OWN DESIGN ELEMENTS OR A THEMED DOLL OF YOUR CHOICE.

THE VIDEOS ARE VERY DETAILED AND JANE TAKES HER TIME, MAKING SURE THE STUDENT KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT IS COMING IN THE DOLL MAKING VIDEOS.

SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CLICK ON THE ICON FOR 'THE TRODDEN PATH' AND SEE WHAT OTHER CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE.  ALTERED ART WORKSHOPS, WATERCOLOR WORKSHOPS, SANTOS DOLL GROUP (FREE) MANY, MANY OTHER ART RELATED WORKSHOP VIDEOS ARE AVAILABLE.

Oh, and what a fabulous doll! When did you make this? Why aren't there more? *accusing look!* She's lovely and she probably would like some friends. You could make her an Alice, for instance.

Hi Teresa! I'm so glad you found me on "the trodden path" too! I haven't taken any classes there YET and haven't participated at all until yesterday when I decided to head over and check it out again! I'm so glad I did! There's many classes that look good, including this one... I LOVE your doll! She's gorgeous!! But I do have a few online classes that I'm working on now before I can sign up for more. Darn!

You mentioned you and your sis have been playing with texture a bit on collage canvases... it's SO much fun and very addicting!! I love using Heavy Gel Medium to create a lot of texture. It's wonderful stuff!

Ok, I'll see you around I'm sure! I'm following you now too!! Again, so nice to meet you!!
