STAMPINGTON PUBLICATIONS....ART DOLL QUARTERLY, PRIMS, AND SEW SOMERSET

Over the past three and a half years I have come to appreciate Stampington Publications.  As I am a doll maker my favorite magazine of theirs is Art Doll Quarterly.   I also enjoy PRIMS which is dedicated to dolls which are more vintage looking.  The one-of-a-kind dolls in both publications are all handmade by wondrously talented doll makers.   I also like Sew Somerset, as I am becoming interested in fabric journals of which there are quite a few beautiful examples shown by extraordinarily gifted artists.  To view all of the publications Stampington.com has to offer go to their website and click on 'Publications' on their top menu bar.  You will be amazed at the variety of craft publications they have to offer.
You can purchase these lovely magazines from Stampington.com  or sometimes issues will be sold out and you can purchase them in Etsy.com  under the category: Supplies.  Then you click on 'commercial' and in the search bar type in 'magazines' or 'stampington'  or even the name of the publication you are searching for.  There is always someone in Etsy who is trying to sell current or back issues of many Stampington publications.  But they go VERY FAST once they are listed.  E-bay may possibly have some for sale too.  I haven't tried that venue. But let me warn you....IT IS VERY ADDICTING once you start collecting their amazing array of various publications they have to offer. You can also find some Stampington publications at Jo-Ann Fabrics, and Michaels or possibly Barnes and Noble.  I used to buy mine at Borders so I miss that convenience so much!
Have a very lovely weekend~
Teresa

The most recent issue.  Absolute Bliss!!!

The most recent issue.  Charming Vintage Creations!!!
OH! I quite forgot.  If you are a doll maker or an artist you can submit your creations to any of the Stampington Publications.  Just go to Stampington.com and look under the category of 'submissions' or 'challenges' for whatever particular type of artwork you will be submitting. All of the submitting rules are given on the Stampington site.  Or, if you purchase one of their magazines there is usually 'challenge' information toward the back of the magazine telling you how to submit your work. They are looking for exceptionally made one-of-a-kind artwork of all types of art mediums so you can't loose!  Sometimes there are designated 'challenges' with a particular themed doll, for instance, like a circus theme, or ballerina theme, or jar dolls which happens to be one of the challenges showcased in the latest Art Doll Quarterly.  But their other publications accept handmade journals, stamped projects, clothing, etc.  Stampington has a wide variety of publications to look to for ideas on various mixed media techniques.  Come join the fun!

I am so, so new to this crazy, wacky, world of art. I started painting a few years ago and then last year discovered this magnificent community of artists on the internet. And now I am finding out about art magazines like Stampington, and that you can submit your work!? That's incredible! I think I'd get addicted to these books. I don't know if you can really find them where I live though. I will have to check Chapters next time I stop in!

GOOD EVENING DEAR ONE!

I have been in my basement all weekend preparing for an Etsy order and new items. I am getting more and more ideas as I create, and I don't know if dolls will ever be on my list, but I know that what you have to share is so inspiring here. I tend to think of animals.....these are so darling my dear! OH, and I still need to find the right blue paper for your book. SO MANY THINGS TO DO!!!! LOVE TO YOU, Anita

Sweet friend!!!!!

HELLO THERE! This is so strange, but I was off from school yesterday. It was wonderful and calm. But I hardly had any visitors on my blog or email, and now that I have to get back to school this morning, I have visitors!!!!!! AND THERE IS SNOW OUT THERE!

I was just thinking of you yesterday as well. I am thrilled to see you and to hear that INSPIRATION is in your heart. Please continue with your writing endeavors and dolls! AND OH! Soon, SOON, I will get on your book. I have just been trying to fill my shop again with new items for the season and also fill in a large order. This shop thing is fun but tricky during the busy school year!

OK, gotta go; thank you so much for coming to share in the COLORS!!! Anita

Hi Teresa, I am so excited to try and get a few of these past issues..I have a very specific project in mind, that will require pictures of dolls. I love the prims, and want to incorporate more of a prim look into my own dolls. Have a great day! Christel

My darling friend,

THANK YOU for your words that you left me. They confirm to me that someone GOT what I was conveying and that is the magic I feel after having been validated for who I really am: an artist. I never admitted it for some silly reason, but it is time to let it be.

Thank you for your kind words and friendship. I must run as I have an early morning meeting!!! Anita
