'HUES OF OZ' BLOG HOP... MARCH 21ST,2014

IT'S HERE!
OMA'S 'HUES OF OZ' BLOG HOP PARTY!
PLEASE JOIN OMA ON HER BLOG FOR MORE PARTICIPANTS!
CLICK ON THE BLOG PARTY LINK ON MY RIGHT SIDE BAR FOR MORE EXCITEMENT!

The giveaway will end March 28th at which time I shall announce the winner on Friday!  Thank you!

I'M BEGINNING MY BLOG POST WITH THE BRIGHT COLOR GREEN OF OZ AND WITH A THOUGHT DOROTHY GALE WOULD HAVE QUOTED BEFORE AND AFTER HER ADVENTURE IN THE LAND OF OZ.
DOROTHY GALE HAD TO EXPERIENCE LIFE ITSELF IN ORDER TO FIND OUT WHO SHE REALLY WAS. EVEN THOUGH SHE WENT TO A LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE, AFTER SHE CAME BACK SHE WAS ABLE TO RECOGNIZE THE PEOPLE IN HER LIFE WHO MEANT SO VERY MUCH TO HER.  WE CAN ALL BE IN OUR OWN WONDERLAND OF OZ, AND WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF LIFE WE CAN LEARN MORE ABOUT OURSELVES AND ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE.

I DO LOVE THE COLORS OF OZ...ESPECIALLY THE REDS, GREENS, AND YELLOWS WHICH SEEM TO BE IN ABUNDANCE IN THE MOVIE.  MY FAVORITE SCENE IN THE MOVIE IS WHEN THE EMERALD CITY IS FINALLY SEEN BY DOROTHY, THE TIN-WOODSMAN, THE SCARE-CROW, AND THE COWARDLY LION.

AH! THE EMERALD CITY OF OZ! WHERE THERE WAS AN ABUNDANCE OF RED POPPIES ON THE ROAD TO OZ, ALONG WITH THE BRIGHT YELLOW BRICK ROAD AND THE BRILLIANT GREEN CITY OF OZ.

I AM HAVING A GIVEAWAY WITH THIS BLOG HOP.  I HAVE USED PARTS OF THE ABOVE IMAGE OF OZ ON A 12 X 12 CANVAS AND HAVE CREATED A MIXED MEDIA SCENE SIMILAR TO THIS BUT WITH MORE EMBELLISHMENTS USING BUTTONS, LACE AND ACRYLIC PAINTS. MY CAMERA IS NOT DOWNLOADING PHOTOS PROPERLY SO I WAS UNABLE TO ADD THE REAL PHOTO OF THE MIXED MEDIA CANVAS HERE.  BUT THIS IS A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF WHAT TO EXPECT.

YOU MUST LEAVE A COMMENT ALONG WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE COMMENT SECTION IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE GIVEAWAY SO I CAN PERSONALLY CONTACT YOU.  THANK YOU!

OF COURSE, I LOVE THE GREEN WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST.  HER GREEN COLORED SKIN IS PERFECT FOR HER HIDEOUS LEER AT DOROTHY.

HERE IS ANOTHER ILLUSTRATION OF THE EMERALD CITY WHICH WOULD BE PERFECT FOR DOROTHY TO SING SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW IN A SCENE SUCH AS THIS.
AND THE FOUR-SOME WAITING TO GET INTO THE EMERALD CITY.

DOROTHY WOULD HAVE BEEN LOST WITHOUT HER MAGICAL RED SHOES.

AND DOROTHY'S FAMOUS RUBY RED SLIPPERS WHICH TOOK HER BACK TO HER HOME SWEET HOME.

HERE IS A FREE BIRD ON A BRIGHT GREEN BACKGROUND THE COLOR OF THE GREEN OF OZ.  THIS IMAGE IS FREE TO YOU FROM THE GRAPHICS FAIRY.

I HOPE YOU LIKED THE PHOTOS FROM THE FAVORITE SCENES I LIKED IN THE MOVIE,  WITH THE FAVORITE COLORS OF RED, GREEN, AND YELLOW.

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT IF YOU WISH TO BE ENTERED INTO THE GIVEAWAY.

THANK YOU!
BE SURE AND VISIT THE OTHER BLOG IN THE 'HUES OF OZ' BLOG HOP!

A little green girl goes to Oz, experiences life, and comes back with red slippers and knowing what and who she really loved. What a lovely take on the party! I agreed completely. Fiction and fantasy do wonderful for all of us: they make us think, What if?.

I enjoyed myself greatly, thanks so much for sharing!

There's a string thread of bright, colours all the way through Oz and I think that's part of its appeal. I'd love to see your mixed media image, Teresa. You make such lovely stuff!

What a great collection of colors. Green is such a powerful and full of meaning color and of course gorgeous. Your postcard creation is wonderful, digital art is a mystery to me. This is a wonderful Oz Blog Post.

My "happy place" is lying in a field full of wildflowers and tall grass, staring up at a clear blue sky, and your pictures of Oz brought it right to my mind....beautiful. Iwould love to be considered for your prize draw, but am concerned the shipping costs to uk would be restrictive. :D XXX

I enjoyed your contribution to the Hues of Oz. I've always felt that the reveal of Emerald City was one of the highlights of the film.

I would love to see your artowork when you can post it - the riot of color was such a big part of what I looked forward to every year, watching Oz when it came on TV! Nothing else in film seemed so vivid!

YOur Giveaway sounds Wonderful! I am a sucker for anything with Buttons! I love how, In The Wizard of Oz and many other Fairy Tales (Although I truly believe in OZ, always have, always Will..)the child is the hero. Undaunted, clever, able to defeat the Wicked, the Evil, the Bad Guy. This always gives children hope and courage for problems in their own lives.

Hi Teresa,
What an amazing event this blog hop is!
The hues of Oz, the rainbow and Emerald City all take in our imagination for the desire to be journeying with the girl in the magical red shoes.
Have fun dear friend,
Cheers for a good time,

Down the yellow brick road, through the trees, with a dog at my knees. Friends with fluff, friends of steel, friends who love and friends who heal. Home is the place I love the best. It's the place of sweet rest. If I wander through the poppy fields and take a nap, I always find my way back. To the ones I love, the ones I need, the ones that God gave to me. If I enter into those emerald halls and meet the Wizard who really isn't a wizard at all, I click my heels and float away to a place I can always stay. Home sweet home. Wherever I wander, wherever I roam, the best place for me is home sweet home.
