MOURNING FOR BOSTON AND WEST, TEXAS....

It is with deepest sadness that we are all mourning the loss of life and terrible injuries sustained in this week's terrible tragedies.

HERE IS MY VIRTUAL ROSE BOUQUET THAT IF I COULD BE AT THE SITE OF THESE TERRIBLE TRAGEDIES I WOULD LAY THEM DOWN IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHOSE LIVES WERE LOST.
My thoughts and prayers are with those who have survived while being physically near to these tragedies and for all of America that we may be united in strength for our nation during times like these.

REST IN PEACE BRAVE SOULS, THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN BOTH OF THESE TRAGEDIES
May the hearts of those who lost loved ones be comforted, and may the ones injured find comfort knowing many are praying for their recovery.

HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW AND I KNOW HE WATCHES ME

MAY GOD COMFORT ALL OF OUR HEARTS AT THIS TIME

A FEW DOLLS FOR SALE FROM MY DOLL COLLECTION - UPDATE- MARCH 29- SOME DOLLS HAVE SOLD- PLEASE CHECK BELOW

I have been collecting one-of-a-kind handmade dolls from professional doll makers for the past four years.  I am selling some of my dolls to help a relative who is in financial straits. So, I am going to be slowly selling some dolls.

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO VIEW THE DOLLS I HAVE FOR SALE.

All of my dolls have been kept in my glass-doored doll china cabinet, in my smoke-free, pet-free home.  The prices posted include shipping and insurance.  My only stipulation at this time is I can only accept United States Postal Money orders, as they are the most secure type of money order as I am not set up to accept Pay Pal.  I will accept lay away if you wish to make two payments if this will make the transaction easier for you.  Please contact me at my email address at: tscat@sbcglobal.net if interested in this doll or any of the other dolls I am going to be selling.  Or, you can leave me a comment with your own email address in the comment section and I can contact you.  Which ever way you prefer.

THE 'ALICE IN WONDERLAND' DOLL HAS BEEN SOLD.  THANKS SO MUCH!

THE BLACK-EYED SUSIE DOLL HAS BEEN SOLD.  THANKS SO VERY MUCH!

The next doll I have available is a Deirdra Doan doll.  DEIRDRA'S DOLLS HAVE BEEN FEATURED IN 'ART DOLL QUARTERLY' A STAMPINGTON PUBLICATION. This doll is: 'The Pink Lady of Del Mar',  a very unique cloth and clay doll with seashell and star fish accents on her headpiece and at her waist.  Deirdra's dolls are so unique in their glorious embellishments. (The large sea shell is NOT included in the sale).

THE PINK LADY OF DEL MAR        The price for this doll is: $125.00 which includes shipping and insurance.   And again, I can only accept U.S. Postal Money orders at this time.  I can also do a two-payment layaway for your convenience.   Please contact me at: tscat@sbcglobal.net if interested in purchasing this doll.

Sweet, sweet details on the facial features of this lovely doll.  And again, the doll is jointed at the shoulders, and hips.  The unique rolled/braided arms and legs can be posed gracefully when the doll sits.  The doll stands at 16 inches tall and sits at 8 inches tall. A tag of authenticity is included with this doll.
The next set of dolls are a Primitive style brother and sister duo nursery room pair created by Cheryl Foster of Patty Cake Primitives. CHERYL'S DOLLS HAVE BEEN FEATURED IN 'PRIMS' DOLL PUBLICATION BY STAMPINGTON. These dolls have been lovingly handmade with soft cloth bodies, and paper clay faces, hand-painted with many details.  The clothing has been hand-sewn in a lovely primitive vintage nursery-room style.
For the pair, I am asking a total of $130.00 which includes the shipping and insurance.  The facial features on these two dolls are so precious, with their painted hair, hands, and legs with painted shoes.

THE CHARMING SISTER.  SWEET EXPRESSION WITH LOVELY DETAILED FACIAL FEATURES.  HER CLOTHING IS A MUSLIN UNDER BLOUSE, WITH A STRIPPED AND MUSLIN  OVER-FROCK, AND MUSLIN PANTALOONS.
THE HANDSOME BROTHER. AWWW! SUCH A CUTIE!  HE EVEN HAS A CLEFT IN HIS ADORABLE CHIN!  DRESSED IN A PALE ROBIN EGG BLUE SHIRT, AND STRIPPED TROUSERS.  THE CLOTHING HAS BEEN TEA DYED FOR AN HEIRLOOM LOOK.   THE DOLLS ARE 15 1/2 INCHES TALL.  AS WITH ALL HAND-MADE DOLLS,  NO TWO ARE ALIKE.  THESE DOLLS WERE CREATED TO LOOK PRIMITIVE.  AND THEY HAVE A BUNNY TAG FOR THEIR AUTHENTICITY.
THESE DOLLS ARE SO CHARMING AND PERFECT FOR THE NURSERY ROOM.

I WILL BE UPDATING MORE DOLLS FOR SALE THIS EVENING.  THANK YOU!
NOTE: Some have been inquiring about making a donation and not purchasing a doll.  I will take that in consideration if you have questions about it you can also email me.  Thank you for your kind support! My email again is: tscat@sbcglobal.net

3.Are you a dreamer?  Yes, very much so.
4. What was the best food you ever tried?  Rock Lobstser.  It has a better flavor than Maine Lobster.

THE CHESHIRE CAT IS PROGRESSING...AND PHOTOS OF ONE OF MY FAVE DOLL GOODIES!!!

I have been perusing Blogland for about four years.  I have been amazed and delighted at all of the creativity in the field of Art which is represented in Blogland.  I joined a few doll making sites along my journey and everyday I am still finding new blogs to follow.  Some of those blogs are well established and I feel like I am just a newbie when I see what they have accomplished.  But, we all have to start somewhere and the encouragement out there has been awesome!
Because I really got hooked into the one-of-a-kind art doll community I began collecting other people's doll creations from all over the world.  I do have my favorite and they are Black-eyed Susie who is Sarah Faber who makes the most hauntingly beautiful dolls, and Du Buh Du Designs who is Christine Alvarado, whose perfectly flawless dolls are sold within the hour after she posts them in her Etsy shop.  I do have a Black-eyed Susie doll, but alas, I have not been quick enough to secure a Du Buh Du Designs doll.  Christine's doll are of the hopelessly romantic variety whereas Sarah's dolls are Victorian Gothic.

HAUNTINGLY VICTORIAN GOTHIC FACE
Another doll maker I greatly admire is Sheri De Bow, whom I began noticing her dolls about two years ago and was able to purchase her amazing doll marionette wall stage.  I adore marionette so I was so delighted when I found she had it for sale.  I met Sheri De Bow online in the Cloth and Clay doll ning site, hosted by Jane Des Rosier, which is still an on-going doll making site.  You can access the site from my side bar.

DOLL MARIONETTE WALL STAGE WITH A CIRCUS FLAIR BY SHERI DE BOW.
PHOTOS JUST DON'T DO JUSTICE TO THIS ADORABLY WHIMSICAL PIECE.  ALL OF IT WAS CREATED BY SHERI.

LOVELY ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN THE MARIONETTES
SUCH A SWEET CHARMING FACE!
AND MY CHESHIRE CAT NOW HAS HIS GRIN! HE WILL BE FOR ONE OF MY UP-COMING GIVEAWAYS!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!  And stay tuned for giveaway information.

'OUR WORLD OUR ART' POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING...SALAD FOR BREAKFAST?...AND FLEA MARKET FINDS...AND A LOVELY FEBRUARY 1ST TO EVERYONE!

SPINACH, BROCCOLI, SLICE BEETS, AND HONEY ROASTED SUNFLOWER SEEDS.

THE 'OUR WORLD OUR ART' EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED BY LISA SWIFTKA OF 'A WHIMSICAL BOHEMIAN' UNTIL THE SPRING.   PLEASE CLICK ON THE BLUE HAND ICON ON MY RIGHT SIDE BAR >>>>>>>RIGHT LOWER SIDE BAR..... THANK YOU.
LAST YEAR I wanted to start eating more healthy...well...it took until THIS YEAR for it to happen.  2012 went by in the blink of an eye.  So, this morning I had my favorite salad for breakfast!  Baby spinach, cut up raw broccoli, tiny canned sliced beets, and honey roasted sunflower seeds with a tad bit of ranch dressing.  Plus...a lovely cup of Lady Grey tea from World Market/Cost Plus.  They have such a wonderful variety of teas and coffees, and chocolates!!!

A PHOTO OF ONE OF THE FOUR ADORABLE CAT PLACE MATS FROM ENGLAND MY HUSBAND FOUND AT A STORE IN TOWN CALLED 'THE PARIS FLEA MARKET'
A SPOT OF LADY GREY TEA WITH MY BREAKFAST.  SOMETIMES I ADD A SPOONFUL OF HONEY...VERY DELECTABLE!!!  OH, AND MY MIDDLE SON, USED TO  WORK AS A  BARISTA FOR STARBUCKS, HENCE THE CALIFORNIA STARBUCKS COFFEE MUG.

We went to the city of Turlock, California this past Sunday for a car swap meet and flea market.  There are always goodies, collectibles, to hunt for...treasures among the thousands of vintage auto parts and vintage cars for sale. People come from all over the world for this event, even New Zealand and Australia.  We must have walked for five hours slowly looking for treasures. It is a huge yearly event. We also went shopping in the town to a few antique stores where I found some lovely treasures.

I FOUND THIS SWEET WIRE BIRDCAGE IN ONE OF THE ANTIQUE STORES.  THE ENTIRE TOP PART OF THE ROOF HINGES TO OPEN.
THERE ARE ALWAYS A COUPLE OF GALS WHO HAVE VINTAGE LACES IN THEIR BOOTHS IN ONE ANTIQUE MALL.  SO I HAD FUN GATHERING GROUPINGS OF LACES.    I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE PINK LACE AS COLORED LACES ARE NOT ALWAYS EASY TO FIND.
MORE SWEET FINDS...SOME ROUND WOODEN BEADS IN LOVELY SIZES TO BE USED AS ARM AND LEG JOININGS FOR HANDMADE PAPER CLAY DOLLS.  ALSO SOME TINY WOODEN ALPHABET GOODIES FOR MIXED MEDIA COLLAGES.

Ta! Ta! For now!
Please keep watching my blog for my participation in the 'OUR WORLD OUR ART' event coming IN THE SPRING.  Lisa has postponed the 'Our World Our Art' event until the spring.  It is a huge undertaking for her to put this event together. Please go to her blog for more updated information. Just click the blue hand on my right side bar announcing the event.  It will take you straight to Lisa Swifka's 'A Whimsical Bohemian' blog.
